A lot has happened to the Clippers within the past year. They have transitioned to a new arena, went to the playoffs and been knocked out in the first round and Paul George has left them and joined the 76ers. This has put them in a dilemma in which you must figure out whether you want to move on from trying to win and build for the future or try one more year and make moves to put themselves in a competitive spot. Today we discuss the different steps the Clippers need to take to move forward from this spot of being in the middle, whether that be trying to compete this season or build for the future.
Step #1: Decide
A lot of NBA teams happen to fall into the trap where they do not know what direction they want to go in. They will have some win-now players but also have young players. This trap the Clippers can avoid the falling into if they decide now. What direction do they want to go in? Do they want to contend or build for the future? If they decide to try to contend, it will bring fans to the new arena and give the fans something to cheer for. If they decide to build for the future now, it will more than likely drive big young talent to there team since they have many valuable assets and with a heatwave of young talent in the coming drafts, they might score on a big name.
Step #2: Act On The Plan
Once they have decided a plan, they must act on it. This is an important step because what is the point of making a plan and not acting on it. This will more than likely involve trades, signings and an urgency from the team. Will they be willing to go all in on their plan?
Step #3: Accept That It Might Not Work Out
Ultimately in the end, it might not work out and that's fine because at least they tried. In the NBA, there is a ton of trial and error but eventually you will find some sort of success. This success could be found in the playoffs, the fan interest or even team chemistry. That leaves me with a quote to end off with by Benjamin Franklin, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!”

I love the updates!. A weekly update is probably optimal, as there is probably not enough basketball happenings to justify updating more often.
