This past Saturday, Karl-Anthony Towns was traded from the Timberwolves to the Knicks. Today, we will analyze the grades and impact of this trade. Let's dive straight into it!
Minnesota Timberwolves
What they traded: Karl-Anthony Towns
What they received: Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, 2024 FRP
Grade: C-
Overview: The Timberwolves had been looking for trades for KAT, but we do not believe this was the best value they could have gotten for him. While sure they get a 3x NBA All-Star and 24 point per game scorer in Randle and a respected 3 and D player in DiVincenzo, this does not make them any better or put them in a better spot than they were before. Hence, for the Timberwolves this is a C-.
New York Knicks
What they traded: Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, 2024 FRP
What they received: Karl-Anthony Towns
Grade: B
Overview: The New York Knicks are one of the best teams in the league and this trade helps them by adding another star to their team. Karl-Anthony Towns is a big that has proven his shooting ability with a career 3-point percentage of 39.8% and his ability to score overall with a career point per game average of 22.9. Will this be the extra nod they need to get the championship come July?
Overall, this was not a crazy trade but it will definitely make a big impact on both teams. Thank you for reading and please leave any suggestions below in the comments. Please go check out our YouTube Page right here! YouTube Page
