This past Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski tendered his resignation from his position. For the past decade, Woj has been at the top level when it came to reporting trades, signings and NBA news in general. On this blog, we take a look at the impact he left on the game. Let's jump into it!
Adrian Wojnarowski has always been working with the game of basketball, coming from St. Bonaventure University in Allegany, NY, Adrian started working on Junior College Basketball which led to him Working for the UConn Beat and shortly after this he worked as a columnist for the New Jersey Record. While working at the record, he realized that the work of general columnists was dying. This was when he decided to start working at Yahoo! sports which would have a big impact on his status now.
Once Wojnarowski joined Yahoo! sports it was only up from there as he gained national attention. He opened his well-known Twitter or X account and even covered the 2009 NBA Draft. He stayed with Yahoo! sports until 2017 when he joined ESPN and the rest is history. He is now a 3-time back-to-back-to-back National Sports Media Association's National Sportswriter of the Year. He definitely had a great career and impact on the game with some of his most famous announcements being LeBron James signing with the Lakers in 2018, Paul George being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019 and the COVID lockdown on the league.
Adrian Wojnarowski definitely had a great career working for nearly 2 decades and having announced some of the biggest news very quickly. Adrian Wojnarowski now works as the general manager of the men's basketball program at St. Bonaventure, his alma mater, where he can relax from a hectic, all-around the clock job. Thank you Woj!
