This past NBA season was a competitive one that saw the Boston Celtics leaving with banner #18. Today, we will be predicting who we think will be taking home the Larry O' Brien Trophy and why. Let's dive into it!
There are many good contenders like the Timberwolves, the Celtics and the Nuggets but we think the Oklahoma City Thunder will win the championship. The Oklahoma City Thunder ended last season tied for 1st place in the Western Conference with 57 wins, getting beat out of the second round of the NBA Playoffs in six games. With this great core they have between SGA who ended second in NBA KIA MVP votes, J-Dub having some of the best potential in the league and Chet emerging as 3 and D big with a few new offseason additions in Alex Caruso and Isaiah Hartenstein. We strongly feel that the Oklahoma City Thunder have all they need to be strong contenders to win the NBA Championship.
The Oklahoma City Thunder ended last season with being 3rd overall in PPG, 1st overall in 3 point percentage and 4th overall in defensive rating. They left off at a top spot and are still improving!
